A time to transition…

At Milestone Montessori our Pre-Casa Program begins at 2.5- 3.5 years of age. Children at this age begin to discover and explore how the world works around them. Our Pre-Casa program offers an enriched educational curriculum including an introduction to the Montessori philosophy thus preparing them for our Casa program. We provide activities to help the children establish a foundation for life-long learning.

Our teachers ensure that activities facilitate language development and fine/gross motor skills. Children are introduced to letter recognition and their sounds, pre-writing, pre-reading, Mathematical concepts, Cultural lessons, Science, French, Music, and Art. Moreover, the learning environment derives from a diverse set of Montessori materials, activities, and experiences. Its scheduling allows for large blocks of uninterrupted learning time, which creates space for personal growth. In addition, the program encourages a growth towards independence and problem solving, as well as, respect for oneself and others. Our teacher-to-child ratio is 1-8 and the classroom is designed to stimulate and help children develop their learning skills. Each learning centre is equipped with age-appropriate materials, open-ended and closed-ended activities that encourage independence, language development, reasoning and problem solving. Flexibility within the program allows for teachers to interact based on the children’s interests and needs. Our teachers implement activities that develop the child’s self-image.

The Pre-Casa program will focus on:
  • Independence and co-operation
  • Confidence and self-esteem
  • Attentiveness
  • Learning through exploration
